SPAA and ADG have joined forces to bring you Director’s Day, a strand of sessions and networking events to assist directors and producers to meet. This is an opportunity to find yourself a producer and pitch your project at SPAA Fringe.
SPEED DATING at SPAA Fringe is a fast and fun way for Writers, Directors and Producers to ‘date’ one another and see if they would like to ‘hook up’ for project collaboration. More info
DIRECTING HIGH END TV DRAMA Listen to some of Australia's most successful directors and discuss how they got to where they are today. Learn about how they cut their teeth, working with networks and the Director/Producer relationship from the director’s perspective.
SCREEN TESTING WORKSHOP A hands-on workshop for directors. Receive guidance on how to connect with the casting director, producer and actors and what to look for in a screen test. Get valuable advice from a casting professional that has cast hundreds of actors in some of Australia’s leading films, miniseries, prime time soaps and dramas. Actors will reflect on what makes a constructive, 'friendly' audition for them. Learn how to prepare for auditions and why screen testing will help you find the right cast for your story. Auditions will be conducted during the workshop followed by discussion.
1ON1's at SPAA Fringe 2009 is offering up and coming filmmakers unprecedented access to television executives. Commissioning Editors from Foxtel, ABC and SBS will be in attendance for a series of 1on1’s to receive pitches from delegates for new television projects. This is an amazing opportunity for all emerging producers, directors or writers to get their work in front of the real decision makers, and turn their ideas into reality. More info
